    The accelerating agent made of vanadium-molybdenum oxide or mineral can react common salt with silicon dioxide under the condition of adding steam and maintaining suitable temp. and pressure to produce sintered sodium silicate and hydrogen chloride. Sodium silicate can substitute for over 70% sodium carbonate for making glass, therefore can save the amount of sodium carbonate to be used and reduce cost. Hydrogen chloride can be recovered to make hydrochloric acid.
