    The invention discloses a novel lightning rod characterized by converting the electromagnetic energy of the lighting current, thus escaping or reducing substantially the radiation of the lighting electromagnetic energy to the surrounding space. According to the invention, a thunder arresting device is formed by the lighting electric pulse conduction tube connected to thunder arresting metal tip and the wave impedance, the thunder arresting device is connected with the lighting pulse transformer and the lighting pulse energy converter in the shroud, and the lighting pulse transformer and the lighting pulse energy converter are connected to the earth screen through the down-leading wire. The invention may be applied in to protection for direct thunder strike for telecommunication station, computer room, and building or structure equipped with electronic arrangement.
